As the legal industry continues to modernise, Accutrainee has seen a record demand for flexible staffing at all levels. Building on our success with helping legal professionals train into law, we introduced Accuflex in 2020; a brand-new solution dedicated to creating even more opportunities for legal professionals. Our high-level goal is to partner with legal professionals throughout their legal career offering them opportunity, flexibility and support.

What is Accuflex? 

Accuflex is the name for our flexible resourcing solution for legal professionals. Through Accuflex we offer paralegals and qualified lawyers a wide range of work opportunities. These opportunities vary in nature and length of assignment but typically will be requests for additional legal support for a project or to fill a business-as-usual resource gap.

Who should apply?

Anyone can apply to be part of Accuflex whatever their level. However, as a legal resource provider we have typically focused on the junior end of the market. Many of our requests are for paralegals (non Qualifying Work Experience) and lawyers between NQ and 5 years PQE.

How do I join?

You can review our list of current opportunities and apply to the one that you feel is the best fit for you. We post vacancies from time to time which refer to specific roles that become available with our clients, including both law firms and in-house legal teams. 

We also have evergreen roles for both solicitors who qualified in England and Wales and foreign qualified lawyers. These vacancies are always available on our website and you can apply at any time of the year.

FAQs – Qualified

A: Traditionally called locum lawyers, flexible lawyering has become popular over the last 10 years with more candidates and firms realising the benefits pf hiring in this way. It can offer a great opportunity to work in a flexible way, get more experience or simply work for a specific period. 

A: Yes, over the last 10 years we have built a very successful business focused on finding opportunities for junior legal professionals. However, as we have grown, and our client base has diversified there has become an increasing need to provide qualified lawyers of all levels to our clients. Our Accuflex platform is a natural extension to our offering and provides our clients with access to top quality qualified lawyers.

A: Accutrainee is trusted by our clients for our quality first approach. It means we get access to unique opportunities not necessarily available to the wider market. It also means a quick and efficient hiring process where the client trusts us to provide them with the right resources. Similarly, we build trust with our candidates ensuring we give good feedback where necessary and focus on finding them the role that best matches their needs.

A: We operate on a PAYE basis exclusively and handle all tax payments at source.

A: They can vary depending on the client and need, but typically will be 3 to 12 months. We do support our clients who wish to hire on a permanent basis through a contract to permanent model or direct hiring. We would be happy to discuss both types depending on your preferences.

A: Due to the pandemic, we have seen a large increase in remote working, but we expect circumstances to change with clients moving back to an office based working pattern or a flexible working pattern with some remote working. We have filled assignments in many major cities.

A: We have clients in a wide variety of sectors in both legal practice and in-house.

A: We want to see a well written cover note introducing yourself giving us a good understanding of your situation and interest in working through our flexible resourcing solution.

A: We have a brand-new platform where you can access free and paid for training and development. We also run events and offering mentoring and support. 

A: We can send you a copy of our standard terms on request, but it is standard process to complete an interview first.

With over 10 years’ experience, Accutrainee are experts in supporting junior legal professionals to gain experience and qualify. We will advise on whether we feel a placement can deliver good quality qualifying work experience and therefore whether it’s appropriate to count towards your qualification. A: Typically, these assignments are either more administrative in nature or there may not be a sufficient level of supervision to be considered as qualifying work experience through the SQE process. You may already have a training contract or are just looking to gain legal experience. Accuflex is here to offer you just that.

A: Typically you will be employed by us and sent out to our clients, but there may be instances where clients wish to employ you directly.

A: Yes! Provided you have successfully completed our selection process for trainee solicitor opportunities. Working as a paralegal can be a great way to gain experience whilst the right trainee solicitor placements  become available.

A: Except under exceptional circumstances, Accutrainee will not be able to certify this time as Qualifying Work Experience as we will not have sufficient exposure to your work or the opportunity to assess the competencies gained in order to make this possible. This can also be because we don’t feel the quality of the work is sufficient to give you GOOD Qualifying Work Experience. In order to secure Qualifying Work Experience please submit an application for trainee solicitor opportunities.
