Experts in helping you build your in-house team
In-house Support
We were delighted to be able to support a new in-house GC with their first legal hire. From a direct recommendation through one of our alumni we were approached by a newly appointed GC who was looking to grow their team and wanted to discuss how Accutrainee could support their future needs.
Given our experience in supporting in-house team we were able to map out specific requirements. Over a very short period gaining insights to their specific needs through in-person meetings we collaborated with the GC to present a tailored shortlist from our existing pool of quality candidates ranging from paralegals, trainees, to newly qualified lawyers. The GC decided to choose a trainee who they wanted to invest in by taking them through to qualification. Making this decision would allow them to work in partnership with Accutrainee, support their succession planning to build out their in-house capabilities but also tap into Accutrainee in-house expertise and guidance. The trainee was employed directly by the company once qualified.
For new clients considering Accutrainee, this case study underscores our ability to meet your specific needs quickly and with the precision, care, and expertise that comes from over 10 years’ experience in helping in-house lawyers build their teams.
Managed Service Offering
Not taken on a trainee before? No problem!
Accutrainee was approached by an international law firm, which is recognised as one of the most innovative law firms by Financial Times and one of the top firms for client service by BTI Consulting. Given our alignment in values and progressive approach to training junior talent, they reached out to us to support setting up a fully managed serviced trainee programme.
We were delighted to place two trainees, who were mid-way through their training: one completing the traditional training contract, and one pursuing the SQE route to qualification. These trainees had the core legal skills and commercial mindset to support across a multi-disciplined organisation.
We have been able to scale to provide the support they needed but crucially to also enable them to reduce resourcing in line with their workflows. We are able to embed our service to align to our client’s resource needs. Our comprehensive managed service programme provides the best-in-class solutions to structure and optimise your junior resource needs.
Accutrainee’s comprehensive managed service program means we can provide industry-leading solutions designed to structure, optimise, and elevate the potential of junior legal resources. This case study demonstrates the transformative impact Accutrainee can deliver to firms who have not previously taken on trainees, reinforcing our role as an indispensable people partner to law firms seeking to cultivate excellence and drive innovation within their ranks.
Regional Support
It's all about fit
Accutrainee’s presence regionally has gone from strength to strength.
A firm who are the experts in their field wanted support at the junior level to support professional development initiatives and ensure a pipeline of skilled solicitors coming through the ranks.
Accutrainee’s approach was a deep dive into understanding the unique regional market dynamics and a comprehensive analysis of the firm’s business requirements and culture. This process ensured that only candidates who met both the technical skill set and cultural fit were introduced to the firm.
By prioritising a match in both technical and cultural fit, Accutrainee has reinforced its position as an essential partner for law firms across the UK, driving professional development and ensuring a consistent supply of talented solicitors tailored to meet the evolving needs of the legal industry.

An urgent requirement for junior staff
An in-house legal team had an urgent requirement for junior staff but were looking for someone at trainee (not paralegal) level with a good degree of experience in the type of work they carry out. They didn’t want to be inundated with application forms which would require time and resources to screen and interview, particularly as they wanted someone to start as soon as possible.
We assess candidates all year round, so have a diverse pool of candidates who have successfully completed our selection process. We gained a detailed understanding of the type of candidate our client required and shortlisted 3 candidates within 48 hours, arranging interviews for the following week. Our client was extremely impressed with the quality of all of the candidates, selecting one to start a secondment in line with their business needs.
Trainee Solicitor Qualification
Dedicating time to identify exceptional talent
We received an application from a graduate who had gained very high A’ Level grades and a distinction on the LPC but narrowly missed a 2:1 at degree level. As a result, this graduate was struggling to secure a training contract. She applied to us, impressing the Accutrainee team at each stage of our recruitment process and demonstrating the key skills and competencies required for a trainee solicitor.
Having successfully completed our selection process we were able to short list her for clients where we felt there was a good match. Each client that met her spotted the potential we saw and we were able to secure secondments for her to commence her training. Her training contract eventually consisted of secondments at three different organisations, two in-house seats and one in private practice.
We focused on short listing this candidate for positions where she matched the skills and experience sought by the client but also focused on putting her in front of firms who practised the areas of law she told us were of particular interest.
On the first day of her training contract she completed an induction programme with Accutrainee which explained how the secondments work, how we monitor training and development through monthly meetings with our dedicated Training Principal and how she can make the very best of the experiences gained during each secondment.
The trainee went on to receive some excellent feedback from her supervisors and was offered positions at two different organisations on qualification.
Legal Staffing For A Large City Firm
Predicting Trainee Numbers And Client Secondment Requests For Trainee Solicitor Recruitment
Our client already had an established trainee programme in place but had become increasingly frustrated with the need to accurately predict trainee numbers years in advance and having to deal with unexpected additional trainee requirements. Due also to the reduction in trainee numbers taken on over previous years, our client felt they needed additional trainee resources to respond to the needs of its departments.
Instead of re-opening the application process for this specific need, our client turned to us to deliver a short list to them from our pool of pre-screened candidates. Short listed candidates were then required to complete our client’s own assessments so that the final selection could be made.
Together with our client, we ensured that the trainee was integrated into their trainee cohort where the trainee has consistently received very positive feedback.
We’ve also delivered trainees into large City firms where they’ve needed to respond to requests from their own clients for trainee secondees, leaving departments short-handed internally. Our service has offered them a risk free, cost effective way of ensuring they not only have the right resources in place internally but can also continue to deliver on their clients’ expectations.
Developing Your Senior Paralegals
Investing in your team's future
We were approached by a law firm who hadn’t taken on trainees before but who use paralegals. The firm was reluctant to embark on becoming a training establishment and weren’t able to cover the necessary practice areas required by the SRA training regulations, but they were very keen to progress their paralegal staff.
As the firm required us to source other secondments for their paralegals, we assessed the paralegals to make sure they had the requisite skills, qualities and potential expected from our clients. We were then able to secure other secondments for them whilst they started their training contracts.
Our clients enjoy training these trainees (who will hopefully go on to become their own future solicitors) secure in the comfort that we are dealing with all the regulatory requirements and offering them support every step of the way. We closely monitor the practice skills standards each trainee is experiencing and guide them through the process from start to finish. We make sure that each trainee is day one competent and progresses through a top quality training contract. The end result is a well-rounded and commercially astute solicitor.
Our client also enjoys total security around costs, doesn’t have to take on any employer risks and has trainees present when their business needs them. This means a better experience for both clients and trainees.
