Selection Process for Training Contracts

We’re committed to having a robust recruitment and selection process that complies with employment legislation and the voluntary code of good practice. Our process for recruiting trainee solicitors has been designed to measure specific key competencies.

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate a high standard of academic achievement at A-level (or equivalent) and degree level. If you have a 2:2 degree, we welcome your application but you must demonstrate high academic ability at some stage and be able to explain why you did not achieve a higher grade during your degree.

There’s no deadline for the Accutrainee application process, so you can apply at any time of the year.

We will review your application

Once you submit an online application form, we’ll aim to come back to you within 3 weeks to either advise that we would like to invite you to an initial interview or let you know that you’ve not been successful.

Undergo an initial interview

The initial interview will be focused on your academics, work experience and understanding your drive, commitment and determination in pursuing a career in law. We’ll also be finding out what sort of law firms and areas of law interest you the most.

Come to one of our assessment centres

If you’re successful at the initial interview, you’ll be invited to one of our assessment centres. This will include a written exercise, a competency based interview and an individual presentation which you’ll be asked to prepare and present.

Receive a third interview

In some unusual cases, we may ask you to attend a third interview. We’ll let your know our decision as soon as can after that.

Successful... the search begins!

If you’re successful, we’ll talk to you about opportunities of interest to you as and when they arise.

Are you ready to start your process?
